We moved; equitable.dev is becoming equitabletech.io

A new home for a growing vision

We moved; equitable.dev is becoming equitabletech.io

I have been writing about equality in tech for some time. In 2024 I decided to consolidate this idea with the launch of equitable.dev. A space where I could explore how technology can be more inclusive, ethical and fair for everyone.

Rapidly, it became clear that my vision extends beyond developers. Equity in tech is not about coding; it’s about design, hiring, AI ethics, accessibility, culture and systematic industry change.

So, to reflect this larger vision. I am making an important shift.

Welcome to equitabletech.io

Why The Change?

Equitable Tech Is Bigger Than Development

equitable.dev natural spoke to developers, but to make tech more equitable. Our audience must shift to include designers, product managers, accessibility advocates, ethical AI researchers and policymakers; to name but a few.

By moving to equitabletech.io we are making clear; this platform is for everyone shaping the future of technology. Not just those who write code.

EquitableTech.io Feels like a Movement

‘EquitableTech.io’ aligns with our vision better than .dev. It signals we are here to talk about the broader tech ecosystem. The systems, policies and people that shape the industry. Including, but not limited to coders.

A more recognisable and scalable brand

This shift helps us expand our reach, attract new voices and eventually offer more. Chat with underrepresented voices in tech, spotlights on businesses ran by underrepresented individuals, reports, collaborations and hopefully one day events. It’s all about scaling the conversation around equity in tech.

What’s Next

It’s the same mission, with a stronger identify. We will still be publishing weekly insights on ethics, inclusion and the future of tech. But we are bringing in more voices, for a bigger impact. Guest contributors, interviews and community discussions.

We are currently working on ways to collaborate with industry leaders, support under-represented voices and provide meaningful insight into making tech more equitable.
